Best STEAM Summer Camp in Toronto East End & Midtown 2026
Share
If you've been searching for a summer camp in Toronto that actually keeps kids engaged (not just occupied), you're in the right place. Young Engineers Toronto East End isn't a screen-time camp. It's a hands-on, build-it-yourself, why-does-this-work experience that kids genuinely look forward to.
Here's everything parents need to know before registering.
What Is Young Engineers Toronto East End & Midtown?
Young Engineers is an international STEAM education franchise operating in over 60 countries. The Toronto East End & Midtown location serving Leslieville, Scarborough, and Midtown runs structured after-school programs and summer camps where children aged 4–12 build and code Lego-based robots.
Unlike laptop coding camps where kids sit in rows and type, Young Engineers centres on mechanical engineering first, coding second. Children physically construct a robot before they ever write a line of code, building spatial reasoning, patience, and problem-solving skills that no app can replicate.
What Does the Summer Camp Include?
Weekly Themes That Kids Actually Get Excited About
Every week at our summer camp features a fresh, engaging theme designed to keep kids inspired and thinking like engineers. Rather than following a fixed repetitive routine, our projects evolve with the interests of the group. Campers might find themselves building anything from motorized amusement park rides to advanced robotic challenges.
Our focus is on the process: kids don’t just follow instructions—they adapt, troubleshoot, and compete in friendly challenges to see their creations in action. Themes and specific projects vary by week and location to ensure a unique experience for every camper.
Real-World Field Trips — Included in Your Registration Fee
This summer, registered campers will go on field trips to real-world STEM environments. Please note that field trip visits vary depending on each specific camp session. Please contact us for the detailed program of your chosen camp.
Field trips are fully included in the registration fee. No hidden costs, no extra forms to sign. Please ask for a detailed program.
All Materials Included — Including Lunch
Every supply, every Lego piece, every instruction kit is provided. Lunch and snacks are also covered. Parents have told us this alone justifies the cost — one less thing to pack every morning.
Who Is This Camp For?
Young Engineers summer camp is designed for children aged 4 to 12 years old. Sessions are grouped by age and skill level, so a curious 5-year-old working on their first build is never in the same room as a 10-year-old writing advanced motion code.
How Is Young Engineers Different From Other Toronto Summer Camps?
Build First, Code Second
Most coding camps hand kids a laptop and a curriculum. Young Engineers hands kids a bag of Lego and a challenge. The physical build comes first. Children learn how levers, gears, and axles work before they program their robot to move. This approach develops mechanical intuition that screen-only programs simply cannot.
Small Group Sizes
Sessions are kept intentionally small. Instructors know every student by name. The learning is adaptive; advanced students get harder challenges, and beginners get hands-on guidance.
Real Enthusiasm From Kids
When our instructors arrive at schools, children run toward them. That's not marketing, it's what happens when a program is genuinely fun. The engagement shows in the Google reviews, the repeat registrations, and the kids who cry on the last day of camp.

FAQ
Is Young Engineers summer camp only for kids who are good at math or science?
No. Young Engineers is designed to introduce engineering thinking to all children, including those who have never shown interest in STEM before. The Lego-based format makes it accessible and fun from day one. Many of our most engaged students had no prior STEM experience.
What age group is the summer camp for?
Young Engineers summer camp in Toronto East End is open to children aged 4 to 12. Groups are divided by age and skill so that each child is appropriately challenged.
Is lunch really included?
Yes. All meals, snacks, and materials are fully included in the registration fee. There is nothing extra to bring or pay for during camp days.
Are the field trips included or extra?
Field trips are included in the all-in registration fee; however, please note that visits vary depending on the specific camp session. For a detailed list of trips for your chosen week, please contact us for more information.
